Orthopaedics
The orthopaedic department is highly specialised and performs the highest number of total joint replacements in Norway. Both the hip and knee prostheses employed are British made. Accodring to the Norwegian National Register for Joint Replacements our survival rates for total hip and knee prostheses are significantly beyond the national average.
Our infection rate is low (less than 1,5%). The patients stay in the hospital 6-8 days before being transferred to a nearby rehabilitation center for about 2 weeks.
